A Beautiful Little Lake

In the 1930’s, six Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps were

located in Shawnee Forest.

During this period, many roads were
constructed in the nearly inaccessible area.

An additional
accomplishment was the construction of five small lakes,
which are still available for public enjoyment.

Located approximately 3 miles off US 52 on Forest Road 13 McBride Lake is one of these beautiful lakes constructed by the CCC.
