A Stunning View

Shawnee State Forest is Ohio’s largest forest encompassing over 63,000 acres of picturesque woodlands.

One of the most popular spots in the forest is Picnic Point that affords a stunning view to the Southeast of the Ohio River Valley toward Portsmouth.

Aside from being a viewing area for the majestic valley below there was a reported sighting of the legendary Bigfoot in 1982 by a young couple visiting Picnic Point at night.

Although the sighting was not confirmed it was not an isolated incident as many locals have claimed to have caught glimpses of the man-beast over the years throughout the forest.
